What is Heart of the Triad?
The purpose of this study is to develop a master plan for 7,500 acres of land, named Heart of the Triad, located along the Guilford-Forsyth County line, west of the Piedmont Triad International Airport and along I-40, I-40 Business and US 421 corridors.
Current Project Status:
On June 30, 2010 the Strategic Planning Committee and unanimously adopted the Heart of the Triad: A Collaborative Plan for Economic Vitality and Quality of Life. (View adopted resolution.) The Committee praised the Stakeholder Committee and the technical staff for their diligence and the quality of the plan. The next step will be for each of the participating jurisdictions to endorse the plan and take action to incorporate the plan's recommendations into the local land use plans and development ordinances.
