Livable Communities Summit

On April 28th US Department of Transportation Secretary, Ray LaHood, visited the Triad for the Piedmont Triad Livable Communities Summit. Secretary LaHood spoke about what it takes to create a livable community. He gave the attendees the advice that working together with one agenda and voice is the best way to create a more livable community in our area. LaHood's comments were followed by a panel discussion of distinguished representatives; David Congdon (Old Dominion Freight Line), Doug Edgeton (WFBMC), Carolyn Flowers (CATS), Chris Stearns (US Housing & Urban Development), & Jim Westmoreland (NCDOT). The panel discussed the advantages of livable communities.
