Thank you so much for your ongoing support of PART. As previously discussed, in lieu of bus service, we are able to offer the formation of vanpools. PART leases both 7-passenger and 15-passenger vans to groups of commuters who live at least 10 miles from their workplace and agree to share their daily commute to and from work. Vanpools must originate or conclude in one of PART’s 10 member counties (Alamance, Davie, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Yadkin). Riders pay a monthly fare based on the number of riders and the daily round trip mileage. The van itself is driven by a member of the vanpool group who has a good driving record and a class C driver’s license. As a perk, vanpool drivers typically ride free and are allowed limited personal use of the van. Drivers are given training and ongoing support in management of the vanpool.
